I think our Boa’s are more personable than our balls. Boa’s are great eaters. It is easy to over feed so you just need to resist that urge. As they age you will obviously need a larger enclosure than balls.

I LOVE boas- especially because there are so many different kinds. Every type that I have had or have now has a great temperament, and generally eats great once established. Just do your research and decide which species is best for you. Some require more care or space than others. There are plenty of boas that don't actually get very big, others that do. some need more humidity, others less, so it's totally dependent on the type. If you don't want a large boa, go for a Rosy, or even a Colombian Rainbow. One of my personal top favorites is a Dumerils, though- THE most chill, sweetest snake ever. Heavy bodied, but don't get that big if you get a male. Don't need high humidity. They are so amazing. You could keep a male in a 4' unless you power feed him early on (don't do that). BCI's are also fantastic, but you need to be prepared for a large enclosure. I personally prefer boas to balls any day. That photo is of my baby Dumerils, Olórin.
